Every once in a while, a dog enters your life and changes everything.
For us, that dog was Bailey.
Bailey—our beautiful “butterfly dog”—didn’t just join our family. She reshaped how we see the world. She came to us as a rescue, but in the end, she rescued us. Bailey had an unmistakable presence that was impossible to miss: spirited, curious, and a little magical.
She reminded us of something simple but profound—that dogs aren’t just pets. They are family, and they make the world more beautiful simply by being in it.
And family deserves to be protected.
One afternoon, during what should have been an ordinary outing to watch our son play baseball, Bailey stepped on a bee near the diamond. The cry she let out stopped everything. We rushed her to the vet as her paw quickly swelled. She recovered, but the moment stayed with us. It made us realize how vulnerable our dogs’ paws really are.
Humans figured out long ago that walking barefoot everywhere wasn’t ideal. We invented shoes. So why weren’t there better ones for dogs?
We began searching for the perfect pair for Bailey, but what we found was frustrating. Most dog shoes were awkward, time-consuming, or uncomfortable. Some yanked her fur as we tried to get them on. Others were bulky, clumsy, or fell off after a step or two.
Nothing felt right for her—and that mattered to us.
So we started asking a simple question: what could we put on her paws that would cause the least stress and resistance? Something quick to put on and stay on, comfortable to wear, and protective enough for real life.
Anything Bailey wore had to go on gently, quickly, and easily. “First do no harm” wasn’t just a phrase to us—it was a promise. They had to be breathable, comfortable, stay on through real adventures, and keep her paws safe in heat, cold, and rough terrain.
And if we’re being honest, they had to be beautiful too.
But after trying everything we could find, we realized the shoes we wanted for Bailey simply didn’t exist.
So we began rethinking what dog shoes could be.
At the time, we were already designing premium petwear and running two retail pet stores, which meant thousands of dogs of every shape and size were coming through our doors. We started testing ideas—shapes, materials, closures—anything that could make dog shoes easier to put on, more comfortable to wear, stay on, and be strong enough for real life and look great too.
Something unexpected happened.
Dog shoes quickly became the most talked-about item in our stores. Customers had the same frustrations we did. Pavement was too hot. Winters were too cold. Trails were rough. Allergies were real. And most of the shoes out there simply didn’t work.
Eventually we found a style that came close to what we imagined, though it still lacked the human, stylish, athletic look we felt dogs deserved. We kept refining, testing, and listening to feedback from dogs and their people. We even brought in an unbranded test batch online just to see what would happen.
They sold out almost immediately.
Between the feedback from our stores and the wave of five-star reviews from dog parents online, it became clear: Bailey wasn’t the only dog who needed something better.
That realization became Fetchers.
Fetchers are human-grade boots made to protect precious paws and stay on through real adventures—designed to go on easily, move naturally, and handle the kind of days dogs actually have.
But more than anything, Fetchers are built from love.
They were created in Bailey’s honor, and every pair carries a piece of her spirit with it—a reminder that the small details that keep our dogs safe and comfortable are really just quiet expressions of how deeply we love them.
Because the dogs who give us everything deserve to walk through the world safely and beautifully.
Fetchers—made with love for the dogs who walk beside us through everything.
